How would you re-orientate your life if you found out you were carrying a boy instead of the girl?

I am 38 wks pregnant with my first baby and we (my husband and I) had planned, or rather wished to have a girl first for many reasons one of which was that he being the last child in his family has all his senoir siblings having girls as first child and did not want to be different. So we had always refered to the baby as a girl only to find out from ultrasound scan that the baby is a boy! How would you advise I take the news and what would u do if u were in my shoes?

I was in a somewhat similar situation with my first baby.. We wanted a boy first, because that is how it was in our families (mostly hubby%26#039;s side) We even expected a boy, because there were so few girls born first! Well we got ourselves a girl first instead( and didnt even know until she was born!) :) I don%26#039;t think it should make any difference at all and once you see your little boy you%26#039;ll know exactly what I am talking about. You%26#039;ve been blessed with the miracle of life, regardless of sex you will be the proud parents of a beautiful child.

Reply:You can never %26quot;plan%26quot; for one over the other and it doesn%26#039;t matter if you have a son first. Honestly, it just doesn%26#039;t matter. Your husband%26#039;s family won%26#039;t care and neither should you. Be grateful that your baby is healthy--I would care less if it is a boy--some people can%26#039;t get pregnant at all. So, my advice is to put things in perspective.

Reply:The only thing you can do is accept the fact that the baby is a boy. Hopefully if you%26#039;ve bought things already you saved the receipts!! Boys are so much fun. There are so many great things to look forward to.
Reply:Well, first off, I%26#039;d just be happy to have a healthy baby. I%26#039;d then exchange all the pink I%26#039;d purchased for blue, and just press on.

Reply:I%26#039;d say laugh and realize you had a 50/50 shot at having a boy from the get-go. You get pregnant to have a baby, not a specific gender. Surprise!

Reply:Be happy your baby is a boy. God doesnt care what you want. He gives you what best suits you. I have 5 boys and i do daycare for 5 little girls, i can honestly tell you i ALWAYS wanted a girl, until i seen the drama these little girls have. NO WAY LOL boys are so much fun. They are rough and tough but so sensitive. No one can love a mother like a son can. The love is so pure and innocent. You will be so happy once you have that little guy in your arms. Trust me you will forget all about this. It will just %26quot;feel%26quot; right. Why not be different? At least your baby is healthy right :)

Reply:Baby boys are so cute. You%26#039;re going to love him. trust me once youre holding your baby in your arms-you will fall in love and forget the whole boy-girl thing. I think that when your having a baby the only thing you should be worried about is that he or she should be a healthy baby and not what it%26#039;s gender is. good luck.
Reply:I%26#039;m sorry... but babies are a blessing from God/nature/whomever you believe in... it%26#039;s like being mad your mom didn%26#039;t get you the right color dress for your birthday - it sounds incredibly ungrateful and ridiculous





how to re-orientate your life??? that%26#039;s horrible!!! if you found out your baby had died inside you, THEN you need to figure out how to move on.





what is there to orientate, did you have a girl on special order and want to send it back for a full refund???





Please, be thankful that your pregnancy is going fine, that you%26#039;re at a gestational age that if your baby were to be born tomorrow it would live.





AND raise that child as if you are NOT DISAPPOINTED it is the wrong sex... even if you have to pretend.





If I were in your shoes I would be happy and thankful that I was about to be a mom, happy and thankful that the ultrasound didn%26#039;t find anything that would put my baby in any danger.

Reply:Rejoice that your family will be different. he will be extra special.


Your son will carry on the family name, most men love this!


know that there is a reason that you are being blessed with a baby boy. You may not know or understand why.


Try to focus on the fact that you lucky to be having a child, so many people struggle to have a baby for years.


Also, know that boys and moms have a very special love and connection.

Reply:Be glad that your child is healthy and that any little girls you have later will have a wonderful big brother. Boys are fun to raise. I had three of them before I had my two girls. You may have to change the decorations in the baby%26#039;s room from pink to blue but that%26#039;s not the end of the world. Once you see that beautiful little boy you will forget that you ever asked this question.
Reply:There is no need to re-orientate!Many people can not fall pregnant , so you should consider yourself blessed and love this child wilth all your heart!


The sex of your child is not important in the big scheme of things.Count your blessings and enjoy the wonderful experience of your first pregnancy!
